Dribbling - Simple and Effective Cross Jab

Once you have mastered the cross jab step, you can use it to easily expand your basketball game and get to your spot on the court. It can help give you an advantage by changing direction quickly and catching your opponent off guard. The key to success with this move is to practice it often until it becomes second nature. No matter the age or experience, this move will work to create space for you to drive by or pull up for a shot when ready.

At Fight Club Hoops Research Lab we reviewed Shane Hennen at Hennen Worksouts who put together a a quick and simple video to show how to develop the cross jab and add it to your arsenal of moves.

One other item that we want to add about this move and when to use it. Notice in each example of the video players are standing upright and flat foot. The better your cross jab is the more that player will fall away from you in that stance.

First Step - After watching the video, take your Fight Club Hoops Journal and write down each drill and steps in the "Notes" section at the back of the journal. This will help you understand the mechanics and process to develop the skills.

Second Step - Sign into the “Free” Fight Club Member Portal to access the breakdown of the drills to repeat daily!
